Fluid Dynamics' Plate & Shell heat exchangers require around 25% of the surface area compared to shell & tube heat exchangers yet they can be constructed with with a wide range of heat transfer area. Robust gasket-free construction
The gasket-free construction is durable enough for the harshest conditions, prevents maintenance issues and leakages in very high / low pressures and temperatures.
The range of the Plate & Shell family currently various sizes and diameters . Plates can be produced in a wide range of materials. After pressing and cutting, the plates are welded together to form a fully welded plate pack. Flanged ports are added to carry flow in and out of the plate pack.
The fully welded plate pack is assembled into the outer shell creating a second flow path (the ‘Shell side’).
High thermal efficiency
Plate & Shell construction creates high turbulence between the plates which provides very high thermal efficiency. This allows full advantage of a compact heat transfer solution in extreme temperatures and pressures, not possible in traditional compact heat exchangers.
